The Writing Center is housed in Room 110 of SCC’s Learning Resource Center (library) which is located in the Snyder Building and offers face-to-face and virtual tutoring options to help students at every level of proficiency. The Writing Center is here to help students become stronger, more confident writers. The Center can assist students with the following:
Research-Related Writing
MLA and APA citations
Brainstorming
Development
Organizing
Proofreading
Students can schedule an appointment by clicking here, calling (704) 991-0172, or emailing the Writing Center at writingcenter@stanly.edu.
Two study rooms are available for students, faculty, or staff to use. The first study room can hold up to six people at a time and the second study room can hold up to three people at a time. Both rooms are equipped with a smart projector/board. Please reserve the room most appropriate for your group size.
Room use is limited to two hours a day by any individual or group. You will be asked to list all members of your group in the registration process. Time may be extended at staff discretion.
A larger conference room/collaborative space is available in Snyder 110. The room can hold 16 people and is equipped with a smart projector. It is available upon request to library@stanly.edu.
If an individual or group does not show up within 15 minutes of the reserved time, the booking will be canceled. If library staff observe an empty room, all personal belongings will be removed and stored at the front desk.
