The Southern Historical Association seeks to promote: interest and research in southern history, the collection and preservation of the South's historical records, and the encouragement of state and local historical societies in the South. An overview of Southern music from 1900's to the present

Established in 1994, the Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) is a professional preservation association of artists, songwriters, industry workers and fans founded to preserve, protect and promote Southern Gospel Music, its history and heritage.

Founded in 2011 by historians trained at Harvard University, U.S. History Scene is a multimedia history education website composed of historians and educators at over fifty universities dedicated to providing students and teachers with easy access to premier digital resources, live digital curriculum, and cutting-edge history scholarship

Pioneer cooking in Great Smoky Mountains National Park revolved around the good things brought to the table by the family members through hard work and diligence. Appetites were hearty, and the cooking reflected that.

Since its inception as the Strictly Stock Division, what is now the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series has evolved into one of the most popular sports in the world. In the beginning, the race cars were driven off the street and onto the track, but as safety technology advanced, changes were made to cars, as the racing machines of today are more complicated and technological than ever. NASCAR has grown with the series from the small organization formed on the sands of Daytona Beach to a thriving sport.

In the main part of the exhibit, viewers tour four sections of the United States–the Northeast, South, Midwest, and West–guided by passages from authors whose works are rooted in a particular place.

South Arts was founded in 1975 to build on the South’s unique heritage and enhance the public value of the arts. South Arts’ work responds to the arts environment and cultural trends with a regional perspective. We offer a portfolio of activities designed to address the issues important to our region and to link the South with the nation and the world through the arts
